1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse
Nice and clean
The customer wanted something nice and clean.
So we gave him nice and clean.
In the dash we kept it simple and installed an Alpine 9884 with high speed iPod connection. JL Audio 6.5” VR components filled the vehicle with some great high-end sound. Powering the VR’s is a JL Audio 300/4 amp and the two 10” JL Audio W3v3 in the hatch are powered by a matching JL Audio 500/1 amplifier. We kept it simple yet eye-catching in the back. The amps were stair cased in the middle and the sub enclosures were built towards the rear. Then we did a simple plate cut with the Mitsubishi logo, but we had to add some flash to it. We used a piece of 3/4” Plexiglass, cut it in the same logo design, and lit it up with a few dozen green LED’s to match the exterior of the car. In the end we had a car that sounded phenomenal with some great bass. And instead of just throwing a box in the vehicle and screwing some amps to it, we created a flush design that not only looks great, but didn’t take up any of the cargo space in the hatch.
We also created a turbo-back exhaust system, using a Greddy cat-back setup and had a downpipe custom bent for the car. Not overpowering in sound, just a clean look and mean growl.
